Honoring Dr. King's legacy of service by keeping our community's four legged friends warm this winter. I made blankets for our local animal shelter because compassion extends to all creatures🐾.

We both love Halloween and Alana actually had the day off of school. She gave this blanket to a co-worker that's battling cancer as Halloween is her favorite Holiday.

Kyle,

You offered a gesture of kindness to help support me recently when I needed support, but perhaps was afraid to outright ask for it, and it did not go unnoticed. It reminds me of what drew me to CG, what makes me stay and what I strive to be for others inside and outside of our organization. The lift for you may have seemed small, though the simply fact that you stepped up to support me was so large, powerful and I appreciate you. Thank you for living what I see as our culture brought to life.

Becca, you were instrumental in the release of a recent project that we have been long working on. Throughout our timeline, you were flexible with your adjustment, prompt with responses, quick to identify solutions and eager to ensure it was all working as would be beneficial to all the end users. I so very much appreciate the passion and enthusiasm that you come to project with and the way that you approach with curiosity. I so appreciate your collaboration on any projects that we have worked together on. Thank you for being a great teammate and advocate for solutions. I appreciate you!

I wanted to take a moment to recognize Jenn for the outstanding work she's been doing with our clients. Recently, we had a client with HR turnover right as open enrollment ended. We've been working with an entirely new team while simultaneously getting them up to speed and cleaning up from open enrollment which means juggling a lot of moving pieces at once. Jenn has been absolutely stellar through it all. She's been incredibly kind and patient with the new team, thoroughly explains everything in a way that anticipates follow-up questions before they even arise and maintains a sense of urgency that keeps everything moving forward smoothly. Her attention to detail and proactive communication have made what could have been a really rocky transition feel manageable. Our client is in great hands and I'm grateful to be working alongside someone who handles complex situations with such grace and professionalism.

I had many questions at open enrollment time for my personal benefits, and Carolyn was very responsive and helpful the entire time. Not once did she make me feel like a burden for reaching out to her. Then, when reviewing my elections, she noticed that I had missed something and asked if she would like me to revise. While this missed item was not detrimental and would have been fine if it was missed, the fact that 1) she was so thorough to catch it and 2) she took the time to reach out and then revise my elections speaks volumes on her outstanding work and care. We are so very lucky to have someone so dedicated to us and our families. Thank you so much Carolyn!

Funds donated by the Eden Prairie Office - In 1993, the executive director of Hospitality House Youth Development (HHYD) created Christmas With Dignity. This unique shopping experience is for parent/guardian who is economically disadvantaged who find themselves unable to afford to buy Christmas presents for their children. The parent or guardian will have the pleasure of shopping and giving their children new gifts at prices they can afford. This allows the children to see their parent/guardian as a provider, and at the same time, the family is strengthened.

Shoutout to Sam for always being willing to jump in and help push charity donations through, even when they come up last minute and need to be done fast. I really appreciate how you’re always ready to put it in front of other tasks when needed and still handle it in such a calm, friendly way. Thanks for being a solid team player.

Kristina was absolutely amazing in filling in for a team member with getting two significant wins for Texas across the finish line. Imagine a player stepping up to the plate to pinch hit and hitting a walk-off grand slam or coming in cold and sinking a 3-pt buzzer beater from mid-court or maybe throwing a 60 yard halfback pass for a game winning touchdown…whatever your favorite clutch moment in sports is, Kristina did that in insurance! Both accounts had several moving parts (different carriers), pending subjectivities, and the only advance notice was a phone conversation while bind orders were being submitted, and then Kristina ROCK’D IT!
Her time and effort is truly appreciated and is deserving of an agency wide shout out as the fans storm the field.
Great work Kristina!

I want to express my sincere appreciation to April for stepping in and assisting with my upcoming contractor renewals. With minimal direction, she immediately took initiative—reviewing quotes, preparing proposals, updating INDIO, and sending everything to the insured for review. Her ability to dive in and handle these tasks so efficiently was truly impressive. April’s help made a significant difference, and I am extremely grateful for her help! Thank you, April- so happy to have you part of the CG team!!

She never fails to amaze me in her willingness to step up, pick up and move ahead with accounts as we transition from Placement to Service; I know and appreciate it is challenging to start up where someone else leaves off but she does it with such finesse and ease! So often there is so much open follow up and/or questions to be answered; Kelly does a great job of reviewing the tasks and moving them forward and/or asking questions if needed; she defines TEAM player and always steps up!! HATS OFF to you Kelly for taking such great care in servicing our new and/or renewal business!! GO KELLY!

The ambiance, the set up, the food, the custom cocktail/mocktail (such a pretty drink!), the gifts (so many compliments!), and the organization with the volunteers made this a wonderful event. The amount of detail into this I am sure took weeks. I can't wait for next years event! Thank you Laura for all of your hard work!

I want to take a moment to recognize the outstanding work Jennifer Garcia has been doing for our Employee Benefits team in San Antonio. Over the past several months, she has consistently demonstrated an exceptional level of detail and ownership in onboarding new clients. Jennifer has a talent for digging into the nuances, identifying issues early, and ensuring each group transitions smoothly and confidently. That level of thoroughness doesn’t just prevent problems, it builds trust with our clients from day one. Her impact hasn’t gone unnoticed. One client recently referred to her as a ROCKSTAR, and I couldn’t agree more. Jennifer’s professionalism, follow-through, and reliability continue to elevate the experience we deliver and will remain a key driver of our long-term success in the San Antonio market. Grateful to have her on the team and excited for everything we’ll accomplish with her contributions on the service side.

Sean has recently took on marketing new SBA accounts, both referrals and call ins and has done a wonderful job. This has given Sean the opportunity to learn our markets, learn unique coverages and how to gather pertinent underwriting information. Congrats to Sean for adding several new CG clients to our book!

The Windmill Project has been an integral part of the Alexandria community since the early 2000s, providing support to families of children with disabilities and special needs. It originally began as part of a regional, federally funded experimental grant aimed at empowering parents to partner with professional service systems. When the federal funding ended, a dedicated group of family volunteers, supported by local professionals, recognized the positive impact of the project and committed to sustaining it.

In 2004, the Windmill Project was incorporated as a non-profit organization directed by a board of community parent volunteers. Since its inception, the project’s primary focus has been on building relationships between parents for peer support and connecting them to relevant resources. In the early days, disabilities were often segregated and not visibly acknowledged within local communities. Today, individuals with disabilities are more integrated into our communities in various ways.

With the help of the internet, the Windmill Project has expanded its reach, connecting people with disabilities and their families to essential services and resources. Today, the project’s main role in the community is to provide sensory-friendly events that foster connections and relationships within the special needs community.

Bethany has been such a great addition to our team! She asks all the right questions and is very detail oriented. She isn’t afraid to pause and clarify what’s being asked so that she does things right the first time. She joined our book during our busiest time and not only kept up with the fast pace and high demands but did it with positivity and an eagerness to learn. I appreciate that she likes to know the why behind what we are doing so she can fully understand the process. Bethany is hard-working, intelligent, kind and overall a great person. I am grateful for all her support and feel very lucky to have her on my team!

Deb is an amazing asset to CG! Every time I work with her, she goes above and beyond what’s being asked. She is extremely knowledgeable, hard-working and her attention to detail is incredible. Recently I was backing someone up and was not familiar with the account or the financing they were trying to put in place. It was late in the day on a Friday and the client needed to pay that day to avoid cancellation. When I called Deb, she immediately jumped in and made some phone calls to figure out how to get it done. She was so positive and helpful and I was so appreciative of her support. To have someone like Deb who is willing to drop everything to help solve a problem is so valuable and I’m extremely grateful for her. Thank you, Deb, for everything you do!

I want to take a moment to recognize Kelly for her excellent handling of a recent client issue. Because of her clear and detailed documentation, I was able to quickly step in and work with the carrier to correct an error on their part. Kelly was responsive, helpful, and appreciative throughout the process, and even though the issue was not caused by us, her concern for the client’s experience truly stood out. Her attention to detail and passion for doing things right make a real difference, especially in situations where we need to request a correction or favor from a carrier. It’s a great reminder that the devil is in the details and details matter, and Kelly’s diligence is a perfect example of how strong documentation and teamwork lead to successful outcomes. Great work, Kelly, and thank you for collaborating with me to solve this issue for the client! I so enjoy working with you.

December Update

2026 OFFSITE PLANNING We had a lighter meeting this month, focusing primarily on preparations for our 2026 Offsite.

What's the Offsite? This is where our department leaders come together to build the upcoming year's annual initiatives. While not everyone can attend in person, we want to emphasize that you will be involved in the process.

Pre-Work & Your Input As part of our preparation, we've asked leaders and their teams to discuss two key questions related to AI and workflow efficiencies:

  1. What problems could we solve with AI?
  2. Where do you spend time on workflows that we could make faster?

We Want to Hear From You Don't wait for someone to ask. If you have ideas, bring them up now. We want all suggestions raised—that's the spirit of our employee-ownership model. If we do this right, we're going to positively impact all our key stakeholders: clients, carriers, and co-workers.

Next Steps Talk to your leader or anyone on Leadership Council if you have suggestions to consider.

**When do we hear more about the Offsite? **At the next State of CG, February 4, 2026. We’ll share the 2026 Initiatives and focus areas for 2026. Hint: AI will be major focus area.

Congratulations to Our 2025 Charity Bean Bag Tournament Winners!

We’re excited to congratulate our 2025 co-winning teams of Andy Bertram and Zach Freeman and Brenda Zawatzke and David Berning on their impressive performances in this year’s charity bean bag tournament.

With 40 participants taking part, the tournament raised $400, which CG proudly matched, bringing the total donation to $800. Because this year’s competition resulted in two winning teams, we are donating $400 to each team’s nonprofit of choice.

The original intent was to crown a single champion, but amid the fun and chaos of Christenmas, the tournament concluded with two standout teams. Regardless of brackets and matchups, both teams proved they had the skill, focus, and uncanny ability to throw straighter than the rest of us.

Andy and Zach selected The Bridge for Youth, an organization that empowers youth experiencing homelessness through safe shelter, basic needs, and healthy relationships while centering youth voice, justice, and equity.

Brenda and David chose Rivers of Hope, a domestic violence center serving Wright and Sherburne Counties that provides a coordinated community response to end domestic violence.

Congratulations again to our winners, and thank you to everyone who participated and helped make this event such a meaningful success.
