Second Harvest CG Drive

Our work is about so much more than moving food. It’s about making families whole again. It’s about helping those in crisis find stability. It’s about relieving the stress of an empty fridge for parents, making sure kids have the food they need to learn in school, and giving seniors a chance to stretch their dollars every month. It's about meeting community needs and bringing stability to hungry households. Our impact goes far beyond a generous box of nutritious groceries. We’re here to advocate for systematic change, innovate the way we source and distribute food, and empower our community to provide healthy food where it’s needed most.

YesUkraine

Will you join us in welcoming Ukrainian families looking for safe haven in Minnesota?

The war in Ukraine has destroyed neighborhoods and disrupted every part of life for Ukrainians. 25% of the population (15 million) have left their homes behind. Nearly 8 million Ukrainians have fled to neighboring countries.

There is now a two-year humanitarian visa pathway to the U.S., but they must have a U.S. citizen sponsor them. We have created a strong support team, but we need you help! Will you join us in helping these families start new lives?

Your donation will help our families get settled and provide ongoing support with things like airfare to the U.S., food and clothing, housing and utilities, local transportation, and setting up a home. We are committed to help these families until they can fully support themselves.

We are working with the Alight organization to connect with those families in the most urgent situations. Alight has been providing humanitarian and disaster relief services all over the world for 35 years, and we are proud to be at the forefront of their recent Ukrainian initiative. For more information, please visit wearealight.org.

Your support and a donation today will help us be ready when our first family arrives. Even a small donation will help us achieve our goal!

Thanks so much for your support. Please, share with anyone you think might want to help!

The Wildcat Sanctuary

Our mission is to provide a natural sanctuary to wild cats in need and inspire change to end the captive wildlife crisis.
Our vision is to help create a world where animal sanctuaries are no longer needed.

Combining natural and spacious habitats with a life free of exhibition, TWS allows all residents to live wild at heart. Each cat has the opportunity, often for the first time in their lives, to choose a path to walk and a place to lie down.

As a true sanctuary, TWS does not breed, buy, sell or exhibit animals. Committed to public education about the captive wildlife crisis, TWS seeks to create a world where animal sanctuaries are no longer needed. The sanctuary is not open to the public in order to assure true peace and tranquility for the cats.

Established in 1999, TWS is accredited by the American Sanctuary Association and the Global Federation of Animal Sanctuaries. We are also licensed by the USDA and a member of the Big Cat Sanctuary Alliance. TWS is also rated as a 4-star charity by Charity Navigator.

HeartWorks/A Cure is in the Works

HeartWorks was created in June, 2020 to accelerate and expand the product development pioneered by the Todd and Karen Wanek Family Program for Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome (HLHS), founded at Mayo Clinic in 2010. The HLHS program has formed a nationwide research consortium and developed cell-based therapeutics to treat CHD, some of which are currently in clinical trials.
The HLHS program’s team of physicians, scientists, and engineers have a combined average of nearly 30 years of experience across their respective disciplines and have focused this expertise on treatments for the most severe forms of CHD, thereby furthering advanced research in genetics, stem cell biology, clinical trials, and cell-based manufacturing.  The team developed a platform that enables multiple cell-based clinical trials to be conducted simultaneously in collaboration with a consortium of world class medical institutions. HeartWorks will expand the HLHS program product pipeline and grow its ecosystem of partners to scale up development of new CHD therapies, clinical trials, and product launches.
Our ecosystem is a critical component of our success. All of our partners believe in and actively support our vision of transformative product development for the CHD community. We will engender trust with our benefactors, CHD children and families, and partner institutions by sharing data and outcomes at a level not possible before within individual institutions. We will share our successes together.

Feed My Starving Children- Bags Tournament Winner

Every year, millions of children die from preventable causes such as pneumonia, diarrhea, malaria and undernutrition. Hunger is still causing nearly half of deaths in children under 5 years old. From this data, we estimate at least 6,200 children die each day from causes related to undernutrition. This is heartbreaking.
Feed My Starving Children (FMSC) believes hope starts with food. As a Christian nonprofit, FMSC is dedicated to seeing every child whole in body and spirit. FMSC works with food distribution partners that stay with communities for the long haul, empowering them to move from relief to development.
FMSC meals are developed by food science and nutrition professionals to supplement nutritional needs and reduce problems with malnutrition. Nutrition allows children to grow, thrive and develop to their full potential.
