This organization continues to conduct research and studies to find a cure for Type 1 Diabetes (T1D). T1D is a chronic autoimmune condition in which the pancreas stops producing natural insulin, an essential hormone that helps the body turn food into energy. It places a profound human, emotional, and financial burden on those who live with it and their families. Right now, there is no cure.
I am supporting Matt Jakubowski, a good friend (and ex-West Bend rep (he's retired now), has completed the 100 mile bike ride for 20 years now to raise money for this cause in hopes that one day they will find a cure for this disease the affects his wife.
