This holiday season, the CG Eden Prairie Office extension of the Charity Committee is excited to support the Christmas with Dignity event run by Hospitality House Youth Development. Christmas with Dignity allows disadvantaged families to purchase gifts for their family at 10% of the retail price. Donations allow items such as toys and clothing to be purchased and sold at the event.
The event takes place on December 13th. Shoppers must reside in specific North Suburban and north Minneapolis-area zip codes.
Donations will be matched dollar-for-dollar by the CG. If you would like to participate, please make your check payable to “Hospitality House” with “CWD” in the memo line and placed in the box at reception. All donations will be grouped together and matched, so there is no need to fill out the CG match form.
Unwrapped gifts are also accepted. However, their value will not be matched. If you choose to partake in this way, please bring any gifts for donation to reception for collection by the Dec 9th.
Donation needs:
- Most needed gifts are the teen ones. Such as electronics of all types, fun alarm clocks, games, remote control vehicles, cameras, computer, iPod, PS2s, Xbox, hand-held games, Gameboy SP, GameCube or Nintendo games (less graphic violence), curling irons, flat irons, hair dryers, combs, brushes, nail care, grooming kits, toiletries, lotions, gift packs, jewelry, girl’s age appropriate cosmetics, fashion hair items, jewelry boxes and other holders, headbands, creative arts of all sorts: jewelry making, drawing, face painting, card making, scrapbooking.
- Clothes: hoodies, warm-up suits of cotton or nylon, ladies’ sleeveless shirts, tennis shoes sizes Men’s 10 through 15, socks, underwear, pajamas, wallets, purses.
- Most needed smaller items are non-violent toys, dolls, creative learning games and crafts plus practical baby care items.
